As part of its classroom management and monitoring tools, Senso allows certain users to have an overview of the computer screens in their classroom or site. However, it is also possible to utilise the Deny Screen function, which means that a screen can only be viewed remotely if the person using that computer gives their express permission at the time. This provides an added layer of privacy to ensure that personal information isn’t being shared without consent.
(NB: This policy currently functions on Windows devices only.)
Select the Site, Group, or Subgroup you would like to apply this policy to.
Click Add Policy.
Name and enable the policy.
Select Items.
Click to Add Policy Item and then in the drop-down menu for Type, click Settings.
- Require permission to remote view + deny thumbnails : Selecting this stops users’ screens being displayed in Thumbnail View and also ensures that screens will not be shown without the user’s express permission. The end user has 15 seconds to decide.
- Auto-Deny if no response : If this box is checked, then after 15 seconds the screen will auto-deny anyone from seeing the remote screen. If this is not checked then after 15 seconds the remote screen will be viewable. For extra security, check this box.
- Do not require permission when viewing from the following Console/Portal usernames (separated by | ) : This will stop the denied screen from showing to all console users on the device screen when the selected user is signed in to a device.
- Display Warning to user when viewing their screen: A new setting has been added to the screen module, enabling the display of a warning to users when their screens are being viewed. This additional feature ensures transparency and informs users when screen monitoring is in progress.
Once this has been confirmed, the following dialogue box will appear on the end user’s device when someone is attempting to view their screen.
Device will display DENIED on the portal until the user has granted permission to view their device.
